July 2011 - We have an opening for a talented individual to serve in the dual role of marketing coordinator and retail sales associate in our Encino store. This person would maintain our high customer service standards by helping in the store during classes and busy times, working in the back office on marketing tasks during the slower times, and going out into the community to help with marketing and outreach.
Retail Responsibilities include...
* Assisting moms & babies with selecting products throughout the store, including breast pump rentals and accessories, infant carriers, nursing bras, baby clothes, etc
* Developing knowledge of pregnancy, breastfeeding, and baby products & classes
* Staying up-to-date with our calendar of classes & workshops as well as registering moms for classes and events over the phone and in the store
* Maintaining boutique appearance and supporting store operations as directed by the owner or store manager
Marketing Responsibilities include...
* Developing relationships with local Hospitals, Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Doulas, Midwifes, etc through mail, email, fax, phone, and in-person to keep them aware of current classes & events
* Posting current class & product information to online calendars, forums, email lists, etc
* Distributing flyers to local related businesses and groups (mommy & me, pregnancy, etc)
* Coordinating our direct mail efforts (mail merges, sending out letters & postcards, etc)
* Helping to organize & promote special events and promotions
* Designing & writing ad copy for promotional materials (flyers, emails, mailings, etc)
* Writing & distributing press releases about events & classes, and inviting media to events
* Getting articles written for the store blog, and distributing the articles online
* Investigating and suggesting new marketing (online & offline) opportunities for A Mother's Haven ...
aka coming up with great, new, wonderful ideas on how to help more moms & babies!
Skills and Experience required:
* Passionate and enthusiastic about helping moms & babies through the first few years
* Sales/Retail/Boutique background with strong customer service, consultative sales, & relationship-building skills
* Strong copywriting, design, and communication skills (written and verbal) with impeccable grammar and spelling
* Detail-oriented (notice & correct mistakes and discrepancies in writing, design, and in-store)
* Self-motivated with excellent follow-through ability and time management skills
* Highly computer literate (email, internet, Microsoft Office, desktop publishing, HTML)
* Positive attitude and eager to learn & problem solve
* Dependable and trustworthy - prior keyholder and opening/closing experience preferred
Part-time, flexible hours to start, including some weekends and/or evenings. Moving to a full-time position for the right person. The boutique is open Mon-Thu 10am-7pm, Fri&Sat 10am-5pm, and Sun 10am-3pm.
$10-15 per hour depending on experience with commission / bonus opportunities available!

This person would maintain our high customer service standards by helping in the store during classes and busy times, and then working in the back office on the website during the slower times.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting moms & babies in the store with choosing products for themselves and as gifts
* Developing knowledge of pregnancy, breastfeeding, and juvenile products & classes
* Staying up-to-date with the calendar of classes & workshops as well as registering moms over the phone and in the store
* Adding and editing products on the website (Yahoo Stores platform), including photos
* Writing product & class descriptions with HTML formatting
* Ensuring all product and class information on the website is correct & up-to-date
* Using Yahoo & Google analytics to prioritize website updates
* Maintaining boutique appearance and supporting store operations as directed by the owner or store manager
Skills and experience required:
* Sales/Retail/Boutique background with strong customer service, consultative sales, & relationship-building skills
* Working knowledge of basic HTML, including formatting photos, text, and links as well as not breaking more advanced code!
* Strong copywriting, design, and communication skills (written and verbal)
* Knowledge of or interest in learning SEO techniques and ecommerce best practices

A Mother's Haven is a maternity & baby boutique that also offers classes and workshops for preconception through preschool. We sell & rent breast pumps and carry nursing bras and accessories, as well as organic baby clothing, wood toys, mommy & baby care items, etc. Our classes include childbirth intensives, caring for your newborn, infant CPR, mothers' gatherings, sign language for babies, pre/post natal yoga, baby&me yoga, Kindermusik, etc. We also do in-store and in-home consults for lactation, postpartum, and baby sleep issues.
